The Lanterna, i.e. the headquarters of the Lega Navale Italiana (Italian Naval League), is located on Pier “Fratelli Bandiera” on the western extremity of Porto Vecchio in the city of Trieste.

It is currently surrounded by a group of public buildings.

Architect Chiara Bettuzzi was requested to renovate the entire circular plan layout building, consisting of a at-sight square stone base and shaft; in addition, she also dealt with reorganizing the ground floor areas and in particular the restrooms and the main entrance.

Thorough cleaning of the stone face, following thorough testing and sampling, also took place.
