Preliminary project

with geom. Francesco Zito

The presented project concerns the redevelopment of the headquarters of the agri-food company “Udine Mercati,” located in Udine.

The building, a complex structure composed of three distinct blocks (one central and two lateral), has undergone a revision of its internal spaces to optimize functionality.

The new configuration provides that the western body of the building will house offices and warehouses, while the eastern block has been designated for shops with attached storage spaces. The heart of the structure, the central block, has been transformed into a multifunctional area that includes a conference room and a refreshment/bar area. The latter is designed to be accessible not only to employees but also to the external community, extending its usability beyond working hours.

The key element of the redevelopment is the adoption of circular economy principles, with a strong emphasis on sustainability. In particular, a 250 kWh photovoltaic system has been installed on the building’s roof, designed to generate approximately 300,000 kWh of clean energy per year. Furthermore, the implementation of a ventilated facade significantly contributes to improving the energy efficiency of the entire complex, reducing consumption and environmental impact
